Fantasy in Lights Callaway Gardens Pine Mountain, Georgia

Updated: Nov 19, 2021

About 1 and a half hours from downtown Atlanta is Callaway Gardens. They have a hotel, spa, golf, cabins to rent and beautiful gardens to walk around.

We went to see the holiday lights the other night. We had a ticket from the first session at 6:30. We got in line about 5:45. At 6:23 they let us in to drive the 2 miles to where the lights start. So it took 57 minutes for us from when the line started moving and we were about the 10th car in.

Tickets can be bought on line or Groupon sometimes has them. You have a chose or riding a trolley they have or your car. . The trolley is open air so bundle up!

They have different timed hours to choose from. You have to buy a ticket per person (under 2 is free) either in car or open aired trolley and you have to chose when you buy them which way you will see the lights.

They do have packages if you choose to spend the night there.

Your ticket gets you into the gardens before, but they close about 4:30 so you have time to go eat in between.

The Christmas Tent Village opens at 4pm.

There is a beach here too around the lake and they did have some lights down there for you to walk through. .

Please make sure that everyone uses the bathroom before you get in line. There are bathrooms by the big Santa Village Tent.

I would suggest maybe putting the kids in the jammies before the lights so when you get home, you can just carry them straight to bed.

You may also want to make sure to have fed everyone before the lights so they are not hungry during the drive. There is no where to stop once you get in line for the lights. More than likely you will pass through town to get to Callaway gardens on the way to thee lights. I would suggest these places to eat at before:

There are a few places on Callaway property to eat and a subway and KFC right there.

Other places of interest in the area:

Great Wolf Lodge about 15 mins away

Wild Animal Safari about 10 mins away

Little White House 11 miles away

FDR State Park right there
