Houston, we have a problem.....we did not schedule enought time here!
This pool right here is what inspired our whole Texas road trip! This is the pool at the Marriott Marquis Houston! We booked it for one nigh,t but wished we has stayed more. The lazy pool is in the shape of Texas! In one scetion of the lazy river, they have a glass wall you can look out at the city. They have another pool you can swim in too.
We pulled up to the valet and they took our luggage. We then checked in, went right to our room, grabbed our suits and hit the pool. Before you arrive you can reserve a seat. I am cheap and decided to chance it and we did the free chairs. We just really needed one for my mom to use. If you want a chair I highly recommend you do reserve one as they go fast!
We had a double bed room and had it a pool view. You get bands for the pool for however many are on your reservation or you can pay $50 more a person.
In the pool area, you have a bar you can go up to to get drinks and food. They did not deliver to our seat at this time but it may have been a covid thing.
We loved seeing the pool at night out of our window.
We then met a friend for dinner at the sports place downstairs inside the hotel. They had big screen tv's and good bar food. They also have a more uspcale restaurant.
The next day we went to the museum area. They have a children's musuem, art musuem and Museum of Natural History.
We found this great place to eat right near the museums. They had a wine bar next door.
We only had time for one hour at the Natural Histroy Museum. We loved it! We bought a ticket, with the special Pompeii exhibit and tickets to the butterfly garden. So make sure you know what you want to see when you get there and buy your tickets according to that. There are different price levels and you could be here for hours if you wanted to.
They have a great butterfly garden. It was 2 levels!
We wished we had stayed in Houston longer, so I would schedule at least one more day!
They have a Metrorail that goes around parts of the city. Click here for more info.
