North Georgia Zoo/North Georgia Wildlife Park (Cleveland)

Updated: Feb 24, 2021

This is a great social distance activity!

We have gone here for many years. In normal times they have a great petting area where you can see the animals and they have add ons for behind the scenes tours.

Sign up for their newsletter and get $5 off coupon.

During Covid they added a safari drive thru!

You get to the zoo, ( not much up here so make sure you have snacks, gas, gone to the bathroom and I have Verizon and lose cell service right before the zoo.)

They do have a public bathroom here near where you get the tickets.

If you bought your ticket on line you go straight to the safari. They have small bags of food $5 each. I would suggest one per child as you can not buy and we ran out by the end.

We did the small animal encounter which was extra. You park and they bring 3 small animals to you to look at.

We added for my son to feed the camel ( it was $5 or $10). He got more food for this and we got out and he could feed the camel and it was just our car near that area.

I will say the animals at the end looked hungry as I bet many run out of food like we did.

Book a behind the scenes tour. We did it a few years a go. You get to go behind the locked gate and see many animals and get to hold a few too. There is a little walking that would be hard for my mom with a cane and you stop and listen at each cage about the animals.

It is a great social distancing place to go.

Other places in the area:

This zoo is 20 min away too

Red oak Lavender Farm- be sure to get lavender infused ice cream.

There are a few wineries around too I think Kaya and Wolf Mountain.

Make sure to check back each Friday and Saturday when I post another Family Fun place around the ATL. Check us out on Facebook or Instagram
