Scottsdale, Arizona

For my 50th birthday I chose to go to Arizona because I had never been there before ands had seen recently about the Marriott Phoenician hotel and it did not disappoint!

We flew Delt to Phonix and from there took an Uber to the hotel. I think it was about a 25 min ride. I had used Marriott points and reserved a Casita for my friends and I.

The main hotel is one area to stay and the Casitas were out on the other side of the pool next to the spa, which was perfect for us. We had our own little area to sit outside with a firepit. We had dinner at J and G Steakhouse and it was 5 stars with a great look over at the pools.

The resort has a kid slides area pool, family pool and adult only pool They have cabanas you cold rent too.

We had reserved spa treatments ahead of our trip. So day 2 we got the first massage times and then used the saunas, and hot tub. We had lunch up stairs (for an additional charge) and then got to use the spa rooftop pool all day. It was adults only and we loved it up there. They do have someone come around and take drink orders. It closed at 5 pm I think. There is a gift shop in the spa too. Our massages were amazing and so was the service.

They have on property a restaurant at the golf gift shop that had dueling pianos and was so much fun!

We had breakfasts each day in the main hotel and my Marriot reward level gave me perks for it.

They have a cute 1 mile cactus walk behind one of the buildings and the lobby desk gave us waters after out walk.

They do have a golf cart or car that they can drive you around resort if needed.

While in Scottsdale we mostly stayed at the resort we did sneak out for shopping in Historic Old Town Scottsdale. We had lunch at a very healthy restaurant called The Herd Box that I highly recommend.

For dinner we ate at the Mission. Get the table side quac!

Other fun things in the area:

Arizona Museum of Natural History

Hike Camelback Mountain (bring tons of water it was closed when we were there becuase it was to hot)

Children's Museum of Phoenix

Desert Botanical Garden

Fiesta Bowl Museum

Scottsdale Fashion Square
